Should you have any queries or you feel or treatment is not healing as explained please get in contact with your consultant.

Do not panic if the area treated becomes red or swollen, or that the colour initially looks dark and intense- this is normal and the colour will fade during the healing process by approximately 30%.

Addition treatments cannot be undertaken until the area has completely healed. A 4/5 week handling time is required before any further treatment can proceed. Your consultant will advise you at this point if they feel more time is required. You must return for you second appointment if one is included in your price by 12 weeks or there will be a charge for that treatment.

  • You will go through 3 healing phases:

1. HEAL: your tattooed area may scab, these will last approx . Not everyone’s body scabs, they often just look dry and raised. THIS IS YOUR BODY HEALING

2. PEELING: over the next 1 week the scabs and dryness will start to exfoliate all by itself. Do try to remove the scabs yourself.

3. FADE TO IMPLANTED COLOUR: it will take 4 weeks before you see your final colour, .

  • Avoid water touching the treated area for 1 WEEK MINIMUM. You are at risk of infection in the first 24 hours. Avoid using the gym, sauna and steam room within the first 24 hours. After the 24 hours they MUST STILL BE KEPT DRY. Do not allow water to go over your eyes whilst they are healing, wash your hair as little as possible and consider having a bath to wash hair so your face stays dry or getting someone to assist you. Use cleanser and wipes and flannels etc to cleanse your face.

  • Do not pick or pull the treated area as it will result in loss of pigment.

  • You may notice some whiteness or blanching around the area. This is normal and will subside within 12 hours. If you find any lymphatic fluid or blood weeping from the treated area you should gently blot to remove all the moisture, approx 1-2 hours after you procedure please take a babywipe and wipe over your liner removing any lymphatic fluid and blood which will have continued to weep however this may not be visible, by doing this it helps stop scabs being as prominent.

  • You are advised to purchase bepanthem and apply as needed to keep the area hydrated, please use this only as instructed by your consultant.

  • Should you wish to apply makeup it is suggested that you purchase new products to avoid cross contamination around the area. NO COSMETICS CAN GO ON THE AREA. This includes make-up, moisturisers, mascara and false lashes. After the initial scabbing has sloughed away you will see a different hue to the colour implanted, at this point (1-2 weeks later) you can then apply make-up.

  • ONCE the treated area has completely healed (approximately 1-2 weeks) consider using a waterproof sunblock if going outside to stop colour fade. Strong chemicals or glycolic acid/peels of any kind may cause pigments to fade and/or lighten. Contact your consultant if in doubt. Sunbeds, holidays and sunny days in England you MUST wear factor 50 sunblock and for day to day wear a moisturiser with and SPF in. IF YOU DO NOT PROTECT FROM THE SUN THE COLOUR WILL FADE DRASTICALLY.

  • Colour refresh: to keep your treatment looking its best it is recommended that you have a colour boost procedure every 1-2 years.

  • Giving blood: the Red Cross have suggested that you do not give blood for 6 months after treatment.

  • MRI Scans: this procedure shows as an artefact on the scan. Some clients may experience a tingling sensation. Please notify your radiologist of your treatment.

  • Injectables: dermal fillers can alter the shape of your eyebrows or lips.

  • Laser Hair Removal: this can cause colour change, particularly around the lip area. It is important to advise you LHR consultant that you have had micropigmentation. The colour change after laser treatment cannot be rectified with further treatment.
